In March of 2013, we had our first official conversation that we were both ready to start a family! I remember that day so clearly as tears flooded both of our eyes as we talked about feeling ready to expand our family. We shared our hearts, our expectations, embraced and prayed that God would bless and grow our family. We decided that day that in a couple months we would begin trying. Months of trying turned into a year and no baby yet. A year turned into 2 and 2 years turned into 3 and we are now coming on 4 years of trying but no baby. Hebrews is one of my favorite books. In this book, we see that Jesus is greater than any angel, priest, or old covenant institution. We see that Jesus is our great High Priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses while also being the perfect sacrifice for our sin. We see that God is our loving Father that uses the affliction in our lives to discipline us to prove that we are His children. Continue reading “John Phillip’s Exploring Hebrews”
What is the purpose of grace?
Primarily, to restore our relationship with God. When God lays the foundation of this restored relationship, by forgiving our sins as we trust his Son, he does so in order that henceforth we and he may live in fellowship. Continue reading “J.I. Packer On The Purpose of Grace”
For the last couple years my wife, Dianne, and I have been struggling with infertility. We have desperately prayed to God for a child and yet He has not given us one yet. There have been some months where we get our hopes up and are just completely devastated when the pregnancy test reads negative. Continue reading “Does God Punish Believers?”
The Gospel For Life series seeks to take the Gospel and apply it to many different aspects of our life (book titles). The books are very short and to the point. All the topics that they cover are issues facing the church today. We should have a response to them, and this resource helps us do just that! Continue reading “The Gospel For Life Series”
